First Dates couple Shaun and Greig announce engagement six months after meeting

A couple who were matched on season eight of First Dates have announced their engagement on Twitter. Greig Fairweather and Shaun Smith were paired on episode 10 of the season, which aired on June 20, and are now set to wed. Smith shared the news on Twitter: “I have some absolutely fantastic news for you all, sorry if I haven’t managed to speak to you over the weekend in person. Sia has said that she stands by her decision to feature 15-year-old dancer Maddie Ziegler in her music videos and on tour, in the wake of new criticism. The singer-songwriter, full name Sia Furler, defended her continued use of teenage Ziegler after a Guardian article criticised her for using her as a “cypher since she broke up with fame”. The singer is known for keeping her identity protected by wearing a wig that disguises her face, choosing instead to cast Ziegler in the spotlight.

I’m A Celebrity’s Iain Lee struggles with mud crabs in latest Bushtucker Trial

Iain Lee and Jennie McAlpine got dangerously close to toads, creepy crawlies and mud crabs during the Deadly Departure Lounge Bushtucker Trial on I’m A Celebrity. In scenes to be aired in Thursday’s show, the campmates are seen undertaking the latest timed challenge. Lee and McAlpine had to put their heads into a series of boxes, using only their tongue to unscrew and retrieve a plastic dollar. Animals hopped, wiggled and clawed around, making the task a difficult one to complete.

South London Gallery launches public art project with local housing estates

The South London Gallery (SLG) has launched a project to create public art with and for residents of three nearby housing estates. Over the next three years, Open Plan will commission UK-based and international artists to create artworks for the Elmington, Pelican and Sceaux Gardens estates. The project was launched on 2 August with the opening of Art Block, a free space on the Sceaux Gardens estate where local children and families can play and take part in creative activities. Artists will be asked to reimagine Art Block twice a year.
